Summer Meals


Although families won’t have to pay for meals for the 2023-24SY, they must still complete forms to determine eligibility for other educational programs and school funding. 
 

If you have a child that attends Washington Elementary School, you will need to complete an Education Benefits Form

If you have a child who attends any other school, please refer to the Free and Reduced Price Meals tab

NOTE: If you have multiple students in your home, where at least one of your students attend Washington Elementary School AND at least one of your students attend another RCS school, you will fill out the Free and Reduced-Price Meals Application only.

Without this information, Romeo Community Schools could lose important state
funding for educational programs that our students are entitled to. 
These supplemental
grants and programs have the potential to offer supports and services for our students including,
but not limited to:
• Instructional staff (ex. Reading Interventionists, Math Tutors, Academic & Behavior Aids)
• Teaching supplies and materials
• Counselors and Social Workers
• School Nurses
• Professional Learning for staff
• Parent and Community engagement supplies and activities
• Technology

What else might my student or household be eligible for? Based on the information you
gave on your Free and Reduced Price Meals Application or your Education Benefits Form, your child may qualify for other
programs such as:
• Pay to play or Pay to Participate
• Programs that provide field trip support
• Programs that provide school supplies or assist with school fees
• Programs that provide holiday support
• Potential household support for cable and internet

*Special Dietary Needs*

If a doctor has determined that your child has a disability, and the disability would prevent the child from eating the regular school meal, the school will make any substitution prescribed by a doctor at no extra change. You will need to fill out the MDE SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS FORM and return it to the Food Service Department.

One free school breakfast and one free school lunch will be provided to each student daily thanks to the Michigan School Meals Funding!
 
Your student may pay to purchase additional meals or a la carte snack items, however, they must have money on their account or cash/check available at the time of purchase. To add funds to your student's account online, check your student's current meal service balance or monitor your student's spending, please log on to the Family PortalFamily Portal.

We are pleased to announce that Romeo Community Schools will be participating in Michigan School Meals beginning at the start of the 2023-24 school year. This program will provide each student in Young 5's through 12th Grade, one free school breakfast and one free school lunch!
