Dear Indian Hills Families,
Today we had our February Bulldog Round-Up, our monthly schoolwide assembly. At today’s Round-Up, we:
Heard the results of our kindergarten service project. Our kindergartners raised $500 to donate to a local animal rescue to help animals in need. Way to go, kindergartners!
Watched a video of our fourth graders' Sphero Robot Aquarium Parade from STEM class.
Talked about our next monthly focus: Get Your Arms Around What Matters Most! Put First Things First.
Announced our Student Leaders of the Month. These leaders were selected by their classmates for best exhibiting last month’s focus: Current-ly chasing our GOALS.
Heard about our grade levels’ progress on their WIGs (Wildly Important Goals). Our school’s overall WIG performance dropped to 66% in January, but our first graders had an amazing month with 84% WIG completion! Let’s take the first graders' lead with practicing our IXL recommendations at home and school to increase our performance in February!
Heard from Mrs. Maas’ Second Grade Class, Mrs. Calcaterra’s Third Grade Class, and Ms. Sanko’s Fourth Grade Class, who all proudly shared their class mission statements.
Celebrated our BARK students and Paw Point class milestones.
You can check out our full livestream of the Round-Up on our School Facebook Page.
Additional News and Notes:
Winter Parking Lot Reminders: With the winter weather, we’ve seen more parents driving their students to and from school. Please remember that the second bell rings at 9:03am. Students arriving by car after 9:03 will be marked tardy. Additionally, if choosing to do parent pick-up at the end of the day, remember NOT to block in other vehicles or the driveway of the school with your vehicle. Whenever possible, we encourage families to utilize the bus to assist with traffic flow.
Tribute Bike Project: Our “Love You More" Tribute to Ryder Project is ongoing through the month of February. Students are able to purchase kindness grams to send to classmates, friends, and staff members, and all proceeds go to purchasing stationary bikes for our classrooms in memory of Ryder.
