Dear Indian Hills Families,

Students have been sharing in reading fun throughout the month of March! We’ve enjoyed having many mystery readers in our lower elementary classrooms, and next week, high school students from the LINK Crew and SERVE program will be here on various days next week to read with our students throughout the school.

Many students have already finished reading Judy Moody at home with their families and have turned in their Reading Month packet already - Way to go!  For those who wish to participate, it’s not too plate!  Students have until Tuesday, April 7 to read Judy Moody and complete the activities in their Reading Month Challenge packet in order to earn some fun prizes.

Keep up the great reading through March and beyond!

Additional News and Notes:

Upcoming Author Visit: On April 8, graphic novel author, Mat Heagerty will be visiting us for grade level presentations to celebrate the joys of reading and writing with our students.  Mat is dyslexic and struggled as a student in school, but now he is a published author who loves traveling the country sharing with kids about overcoming obstacles and how his disability is actually his super power! If your child would like to order a copy of one of Mat’s books for him to autograph during his visit, please return this order form and payment to Calliope Bookshelf by Wednesday, March 25 (A paper copy is coming home today, as well).

Spirit Week - Monday, March 23rd-26th:  Each year, Indian Hills sponsors memorial scholarships for some graduating seniors at Romeo High School.  The Ryder Finkel, Gavin Miller, and Mr. Smith scholarships are given in memory of dear Indian Hills Bulldogs who passed before their time. We ask for a suggested donation of $5 for the week. MONDAY: Pajama Day, TUESDAY: Sports Day, WEDNESDAY: Cowgirl/Cowboy Day, THURSDAY: Class choice.
