Mr. Jeff LaPerriere
I am the proud principal of Powell Middle School.
The staff and I are very happy to be working with your children. Our mission at Powell is, "Encourage creativity and provide real world applications through new technologies and innovative strategies in a supportive atmosphere." It takes the entire Powell community working together to be successful in the school’s mission. Because we are partners in the education of your child, I encourage all parents to become involved by keeping informed of all school goals and initiatives, communicating on a regular basis, attending monthly Parent Club meetings, helping out in any way, checking your child’s daily practice nightly, and checking the Parent Portal. Most importantly, providing parental support and encouragement at home.
Whatever part you play is crucial to the success of your child’s education. Please take the time to follow us on Facebook to find out what is happening at our school.
I graduated from Lutheran High School North in 1985. Just after high school I went onto Olivet College to begin studying to become an educator as well as play four years of football for the Comets. I graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. I went into teaching Physical Education at Lutheran High School North from 1990-1996. In the spring of 1996 I made the transfer to public education by teaching high school Physical Education and Health in the Warren Woods School District. During the Spring of 2007 I earned my Masters of Education Degree from Saginaw Valley State University. I began my administrative career at Croswell-Lexington Middle School in 1997. I came to the Romeo Community School District in August of 1998 to begin as an Assistant Principal at Powell Middle School. I received my first opportunity to be a Middle School Principal in 2001 at Romeo Middle School. I moved back to Powell as the proud Principal in January of 2004 and have been here ever since. I don’t live in the community, but I have been vested in this great community since 1998 and I have been honored to serve all the students. I am married to an elementary principal and we have three great kids.
